Sautéed Shrimp with Leeks & Bacon
This 7-ingredient Sautéed Shrimp with Leeks & Bacon dish is a super simple 30-minute meal. This recipe only uses a few ingredients, which allows the shrimp and leeks to shine! This recipe fits the Whole30, Paleo and AIP diet.

- 2 slices Bacon make sure that it’s sugar free
- 3 Leeks white part only
- 1 tablespoon Ghee another oil like Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Avocado oil or coconut oil would make a good substitute (Ghee is an AIP Reintroduction)
- 2 pounds Shrimp peeled and deveined
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Dried Thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Pepper AIP Reintroduction, optional
Add bacon to a large sauté pan over medium high heat.
Cook the bacon for about 3-5 minutes or until crispy. You’ll want to flip the bacon halfway through the cooking time.
Remove the bacon from the pan and then set aside.
Add the ghee and the leeks.
Cook the leeks down until they are soft, about 3-5 minutes.
While the leeks are cooking add the salt, thyme and if using, the ground pepper.
Next add in the shrimp and let them cook for a few minutes before tossing them with the leeks.
Let the shrimp cook for another minute or until the shrimp are cooked through.
Crumble the bacon and then add that back into the shrimp mixture.
Serve immediately.
