Hannah’s Healthy Bakery
When Hannah of Hannah’s Healthy Bakery reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try her Paleo-friendly treats, I was ecstatic! I mean… paleo treats, that I don’t have to bake myself? Yes, please! If you have been reading my blog for awhile, then you probably know I don’t like baking. All that measuring and mess is not my thing. But, I do like eating Paleo goodies, which I rarely do, since you can’t just run to the store and buy some.
I was so lucky to get some treats from Hannah to bring along on our 4th of July family vacation! These are photos of our breakfast spread one morning. When I first started my Paleo journey, it was back in 2009 and I discovered this lifestyle via Crossfit. I was definitely of the camp that believed that Paleo treats do not belong in a healthy diet. But, throughout the years, I have really loosened my stance on this. I think when included as an occasional treat, there is room for baked goods in a healthy diet.
When I started coaching people, I found that healthy treats can actually help some people with the transition. I grew up in a culture that basically revolves around food. Armenians are known for their pastries, just ask anyone that knows an Armenian, if they have had gata or nazook. If guests are coming over, the first thing my mom does is run to the Armenian bakery to pick up enough pastries to set up a dessert table at a small wedding (and a small wedding for Armenians is 200 people 😉 ).
As I coached 2 of my aunts, one for weight loss and one for Rheumatoid Arthritis, I found that they were much more successful with the Paleo diet, if they could make the occasional muffin or small cake to serve with tea when their friends visited.
Now that I am a mom, I love baking a special Paleo birthday cake (the only time I enjoy baking) for Indyanna every year or having an alternative for her at a friend’s party. My kid eats liver, salmon roe, bone marrow, broth, you name it and loves it. But, to see her face when she bit into a snickerdoodle cookie from Hannah’s Healthy Bakery would be worth ordering the cookies alone! She lit up. Preferring natural sweets is an innate preference after all.
About Hannah and her Healthy Bakery!
Hannah is a wife and stay at home mom of two. After being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroid disease and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), she decided to take the natural route and go on a strict grain free diet. Hannah started her bakery to make the transition to a real food lifestyle easier for others, as being able to have the occasional treat proved to be crucial in her success in regaining her health.
Desserts of Hannah’s healthy bakery don’t sacrifice flavor for health. Although, they do take health seriously. Their desserts use unpasteurized local honey and organic, locally sourced eggs.
We tried Hannah’s chocolate muffins, blueberry crumb mini-loaf and snicerkdoodle cookies. It was so special because we brought them along on our family vacation and had a dessert spread with coffee (and milk for Indy) for breakfast one morning.
We especially loved treats of Hannah’s healthy bakery because they didn’t taste packaged; they reminded me of the fresh made pastries my mom used to buy from local bakeries. We really enjoyed it! All three desserts were delicious and tasted like the real deal. I was partial to the snickerdoodles though, which was a problem because so was Indy… lol. Those were my favorite in my pre-paleo days. These are the best Paleo snickerdoodles that I’ve ever had!
I am thrilled that businesses like Hannah’s exist. It makes a Paleo diet feel much less restricted for many people.

Those treats look delicious! I have a sweet tooth but I really try not to indulge too much, these would be a good option for when I do decide to indulge.
