By now, you all know that I have major love for the slow cooker. I even wrote an entire book about it! I think it is the best modern kitchen tool invented. Why, you ask… or maybe you don’t ask cause you already know! 🙂 … It makes cooking healthy so easy! It takes minimal effort and little time in the kitchen.
Many of us are so busy at our day jobs, with school or taking care of our children that we don’t always have an hour or two to spend in the kitchen. I love that you can basically throw a few things in the slow cooker and leave for the day and come back to a delicious and nourishing meal!
Another great advantage of the slow cooker is that it allows you to cook in bulk, so you can cook once and eat twice (or more). To keep up with the Paleo diet and a busy lifestyle this tip is key!
Now that slow cooker season is in full swing, I have collected some of the best Paleo Slow Cooker recipes for you from some of my favorite bloggers!
These are my two favorite slow cookers!
This is the Hamilton Beach 33967 Set ‘n Forget 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker. I used many slow cookers when I was testing recipes for my cookbook. I found that this one cooks very evenly! It also has a programmable timer which is very useful if you are not going to be home. Many reputable bloggers have written that the insert is lead-free, as there is some controversy around lead in the glaze of the ceramic insert of some slow cookers.
This is the VitaClay VM7900-8 Smart Organic Multi-Cooker/Rice Cooker. I love this slow cooker because the insert is made of unglazed clay which elevates the flavors of the food you are cooking. In addition, it means that there are no questionable substances like aluminum, lead or non-stick chemical coating contacting your food. It is also a rice cooker and yogurt maker!
A couple of things to note about the Vita Clay slow cooker is that the insert is smaller than a traditional slow cookers, most recipes will fit, but some may need to be adjusted. It also cooks significantly faster than a traditional slow cooker. I find that my recipes are ready in half the time!

I love slow-cookers. I started the slow cooking season by making hot sauce with my leftover jalapenos from the garden.
