Let me start off by saying that I am not perfectly green or anything. But, this is something I’ve been working on over the last few years. As things run out or break in our house, I swap them out for a healthier and more environmentally-friendly option. Just recently my coffeemaker started having issues, so I swapped it out for this glass Chemex from MightyNest.
It has been amazing! The design is gorgeous and the coffeemaker works brilliantly. Both my husband and I agree that it definitely makes a more superior cup of coffee. If you drink your coffee black, you have to give this a try. It makes the smoothest cup of coffee I’ve ever had!
In celebration of Earth Month, I have partnered up with MightyNest to bring you this post and giveaway!!!

Here are 5 more easy ways to go green!
1. Instead of Plastic Sandwich Bags, try Bee’s Wrap
Bee’s Wrap is made with organic cotton muslin, beeswax, jojoba oil, and tree resin. It can be washed and reused. It can be used instead of plastic wrap too, to keep food fresh!
2. Use Glass Food Storage Containers
MightyNest has tons of options. Check them out HERE. Glass storage is great because it is completely free of toxic chemicals, such as BPA and BPS, that can potentially leach into our food. I also prefer glass because it is very durable and lasts a long time. Glass food storage containers don’t get easily scratched up, like plastic one do. I’ve had mine for 5 years and they are still in perfect condition!
3. Use Cloth Napkins
This is such an easy one to do. We started a few years ago. Plus, it is fun. My toddler loves picking out different prints for meal times. It really doesn’t add much work into your life. Most of us are often doing laundry anyway, a few cloth napkins don’t take up too much room. So much waste is avoided, when we skip paper napkins. Check out all of the cloth napkin options from MightyNest HERE.
4. Bring your water bottle with you
Always carry a reusable water bottle with you. According to Business Insider, “America is now drinking more bottled water than milk or beer”. They also mentioned that global bottled water consumption has been increasing at about a rate of 10% per a year. I recommend using a glass or stainless steel reusable water bottle, opposed to plastic. These materials are gentler on the environment and your body. Check out the many different options from MightyNest HERE.
5. Use Reusable Shopping Bags at the Grocery Store and Beyond!
Most of us tend to bring our grocery bags to the store. I also encourage you to keep other bags in your purse for going clothing shopping or to use anywhere that you might buy something. I really like these small bags from MightyNest that fold up and I can easily tuck into my purse. I use them at Macy’s, Target, wherever I might buy something. You can see all of the bags HERE.
