Keep your skin hydrated and silky smooth with this easy DIY Lemongrass Body Butter! This body butter only needs five ingredients and it’ll leave your skin feeling hydrated and nourished.
As females, we tend to put a lot of product on our bodies… but nothing comes close to the amount of lotion we use! Daily, we slather up in lotion without really considering what’s in it.
This is actually how I came to make my own body butter! I was trying to get pregnant and started to question everything. When I found out how easy it was to make your own DIY products, I was hooked.
And now I don’t even think twice about lathering up.
This homemade body butter is simple. It uses just five ingredients and each of those ingredients is a natural product you can purchase.
I tend to alternate through my favorite body oils (almond, jojoba, apricot) but when I’m in a rush I always reach for almond oil. Almond oil is simply a natural way to improve the health of your skin.
In addition to ensuring adequate water intake, giving your skin the nourishment it needs to maintain its elasticity works wonders in avoiding stretch marks. I use this exact strategy in my homemade belly butter for stretch marks and it works beautifully.
Between the oils and the butter, this DIY recipe gives your skin some serious love.
Plus, it makes a great homemade gift! One of the reasons I love creating DIY products is because I use them throughout the year for thoughtful gifts (like these killer self care gift ideas). This DIY body butter is simple to make and you can customize the scent based on preference – though lemongrass is super uplifting (and calming to me, too).
I’ve heard that lemongrass has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, too.
This DIY body butter is perfect for your legs in colder, dry months. The oil helps nourish the skin and the beeswax helps protect it. Use it after a shower to have it better absorbed – really rub it in!
Due to its oil base, I wouldn’t recommend it as much on your face as frequently as many people don’t do well with oils. That said, I live in Canada so I totally rock body butters like this on super cold, brittle days to help protect my face from the elements.
It’s simple, calming and best of all – natural!
