This orange beef recipe is one that is going to make your taste buds very, very happy.
This is a guest recipe post by Louise Hendon from Paleo Flourish Magazine and the author of The Essential Paleo Cookbook. This easy and flavorful recipe is from the second edition of her cookbook.
It’s 8 p.m. – you get home and you’re exhausted and hungry. The last thing you want to do is spend several hours preparing dinner.
This was one of my biggest struggles as an attorney working in New York City eating a Paleo diet.
So, that’s when I started getting interested in cooking fast and easy meals from real ingredients. I started figuring out what short cuts I could take in cooking, what spices and foods I could add to a dish to make it flavorful, and what cooking techniques were the most efficient.
Growing up, my mother (who is a high achieving engineer and scientist, and who has worked my entire life) always came home from work and cooked our dinner from scratch. And this is still very typical in many Asian families.
One of the tricks up her sleeve was the quintessential Chinese stir-fry. These are super fast to cook and, of course, amazingly tasty and nutritious. A basic stir-fry combines meats and vegetables with some onion-family vegetables and some sauces or spices.
I’ve been creating all different sorts of Paleo stir-fries for many years now, and I’d love to share with you this new one. I recently came up with it for the second edition of The Essential Paleo Cookbook. It combines thin strips of beef (so that it cooks fast) with oranges (for a delicious sweet and tangy flavor). I hope you enjoy it.
