Book Review
I am so excited for Chris’ book to be released tomorrow (December 31st), so you all can start reading it. This is the book I have been waiting for since I started the Paleo diet back in 2009.
Often, people tell me that they tried the Paleo diet, but it didn’t work for them. As I start prying, I learn that they tried the Paleo diet without reading up on it and they did it based on hearsay. Basically, they ate some chicken breast and broccoli for a month and experienced some benefits, but mostly felt unsatisfied and bored.
I have found that those that are successful in implementing a Paleo lifestyle and not just a Paleo diet, take the time to learn about how to implement it and why it works.
If you plan to change your diet and improve your health in the New Year, then this book is the perfect place to start. It will address any questions or concerns you may have about taking a Paleo approach. Although, Chris has a technical background, he has a knack for explaining complicated concepts in layman’s terms. By the time you are finished reading Your Personal Paleo Code, you will understand exactly why the changes you are making will help you achieve optimal health and wellness.
Most importantly, you will learn how to adjust the Paleo diet to make it sustainable for you. You will learn how to optimize your health, while not feeling deprived and restricted with your diet. Or you may be on the opposite end of the spectrum and you need some additional changes to feel better, especially in the case of those with Autoimmune conditions. Chris navigates you through the Paleo template, to help you make changes that are relevant to you personally.
This book is set up, so you can get started right away. Early on in the book, in the 2nd chapter, Chris lays out what to eat and what not to eat for the 30 Day reset phase. He also directs you to the sections of his book and blog, where you will find meal plans and recipes. You can start making dietary changes immediately, while you continue to read the book throughout your 30 day reset phase to learn more of the in and outs, and whys and hows.
I think the set up of this book is especially important. As you read about the Paleo approach and learn more about the importance of adding nutrients to your diet, while avoiding toxins, you will be much more motivated to stay on track.
As you get deeper in the book, you learn how to improve your entire lifestyle, not just your diet. Chris’ book also teaches us how to get better sleep, reduce stress and generally enjoy our lives more.
Chris has a vast amount of knowledge about health, so even if you are a seasoned Paleo-vet, there is a lot to learn in this book.

Although, I have been following a Paleo diet for close to 5 years and I have figured out what works for me, I have gotten a little off track lately. I could use a serious reset.
The last year has been amazing, but a very stressful one with publishing my cookbook, while writing my 2nd book, growing my blog and taking care of my toddler. I am eating way more sugar than I know is healthy, mostly in the form of dried fruit and chocolate. In general, I haven’t been feeling my best. I know that I can also use quite a bit of help in the department of stress and sleep. Like most of you, I want to start the New Year feeling amazing!

Hi Arsy!! I would love to do this reset with you! I\’m hoping and praying that I\’ll be able to make it through the entire 30 days tho!!!! Aaaaahhh!! I\’m a bit excited! I just got diagnosed with diabetes in November, and so far I\’ve been doing really good (got two points knocked down from my initial A1C), until probably the last 2 weeks!! Eeeeks! Not bad, but not good either. So, how can I make sure I stay up to date with your reset instructions? Actually, I should probably ask you, what does the reset entail? Lol! I\’m game tho! Need to get healthier! I\’m ready!!!

Hi Elle! That is fantastic! You will feel great and it will do wonders for your diabetes. The reset is all broken down in Chris’ book. It is basically Paleo, but not sweeteners (i.e. honey, maple syrup) and no dairy of any kind (not even butter or ghee). I highly recommend getting his book. As it will not only walk you through the reset, it will educate you on how these foods are impacting your body, what other lifestyle aspects to work on and how to reintroduce foods so the Paleo diet works for you specifically.
