Have you ever read the ingredient label on baby wipes? They usually consist of a long list of unpronounceable words. Some of these ingredients can even be hazardous to your baby’s health. Even the more natural brands often use preservatives and fragrances.
Luckily, making your own wipe solution is not only healthy, but easy to do and cheaper than the store bought stuff! I’ve been making this for Indy since she was born.
Most of the time, we just use a wet cloth wipe to wipe our baby’s bottom. I just get them wet and bring them to the changing station before I bring her over.
But, for those bigger jobs, we love this homemade solution. We keep one in a spray bottle next to our changing station and one in our diaper bag. We tend to spray the wipe and not the baby’s bottom, as that is more comfortable for her.
I use saponified coconut oil in this recipe that I buy here. We love how it cleanses and offers antiseptic properties, but it is still gentle. I also add essential oils for their antiseptic properties and the aromatherapy benefits.
To make this Homemade Baby Wipe Solution I used this 4 ounce spray bottle (this glass one works well too), this chalkboard pen and these chalkboard labels.
Please note that I only use high quality, 100% essential oils (especially on my little babe), you can find them HERE.
